Ricoh Ring Binder Takes Home Best of Show for Increasing Efficiency in Production Printing Environments
Boston, MA, March 05, 2008 — Ricoh Americas Corporation, a leading provider of digital office equipment, today announced that the Ricoh Ring Binder RB5000 has been honored at this year’s ON DEMAND Conference & Exposition with a Best of Show award in the Bindery/Finishing/Mailing Equipment category. The RB5000 was selected for its industry-leading, fully automated in-line ring binding system that enables users to create finished ring bound books right from their desktop. The awards were announced during a ceremony at ON DEMAND on March 4, 2008.
InfoTrends, a leading market research and consulting firm in the digital imaging and document solutions industry, partnered with the ON DEMAND Conference & Exposition to produce the awards program. The ON DEMAND Conference & Exposition is the world's leading digital printing conference and exposition, encompassing all of the technologies that are used to create, manage, personalize, print and deliver content. The Best of Show submissions were judged using a set of weighted criteria by a panel of experts from the printing and graphic arts industries. The RB5000 is compatible with Ricoh's new Pro Series production systems and marks the first time an automated binding product has ever been introduced on a monochrome digital printing system. With automated binding, printers dramatically improve job integrity and reduce the chance of error while eliminating external finishing equipment. Since the command can be done right from a desktop computer, the production process is made more efficient. In addition, the RB5000 collates, punches and in-line binds up to 100 pages so booklets lay flatter than other types of in-line binding currently offered on the market.
